SKORE Co-Founder and President, Bronson Starsiak, recently appeared on WTNH News 8 to promote the donation of gently used sports equipment for the local community.
Leveling the Playing Field
When a group of teens saw a need for sports equipment, they decided to help fill the void. SKORE was started when the organization members realized how much unused sports equipment they had lying around.
The leaders of SKORE decided to put the equipment to good use by developing an ongoing initiative to collect more gear from others in the community.
The organization collects, cleans and refurbishes, then distributes the equipment to schools, churches and clubs to promote health, self-esteem and collaboration.
Equipment Drop-offs
SKORE’s first drop-off was to Hartford Public Schools. In March, the group brought about 20 boxes to Nicole Porter, the Operations Manager of Athletics. Seeing the results of hard work paid off was an amazing experience!
Hartford is looking to expand its physical education programs, so this was the perfect partnership.
Nicole is trying to start a golf program at Hartford Public Schools, so gently used golf clubs, balls and bags are needed.
